BMS, Power Monitoring & Security for Data Centres

Data centres run on systems that cannot fail. We design, install and integrate the BMS, power monitoring, SCADA control, physical security and cabling that keep halls cool, powered and secure.

Monitoring, Control & Security Solutions for Data Centres

From a single data hall to a multi-building campus, we deliver the systems that let operators see every hall, plant room and electrical room in real time and act before a fault becomes an outage.

BMS & Environmental Monitoring

An open-protocol BMS that monitors cooling, power, environment and leaks across every hall and plant room.

Power Monitoring & EPMS

Metering from the utility incomer to the rack PDU, with power quality, alarms and PUE reporting.

SCADA & PLC Critical Control

Redundant PLC control of chilled water plant, generators and transfer schemes with fail-safe sequences.

Physical Security & PSIM

Access control, mantraps, visitor management and CCTV brought together in one PSIM view.

Full Scope

Everything We Deliver Inside a Data Centre

Data centres bring together more building systems than any other facility, and most of them arrive from different contractors. We design, install and integrate the full set so they work as one.

Structured Cabling, Fibre & Cross-Connects

Connect every rack, meet-me room and carrier with cabling that is documented and ready for change. We install Cat6A copper, OM4 and OS2 fibre, pre-terminated MPO trunks and cross-connect frames, labelled and recorded to TIA-606 so every port is traceable.

Building Management System (BMS) for Monitoring

See the state of every hall, plant room and electrical room from one set of graphics. We deploy an open-protocol BMS with redundant servers, alarm management, trending and historian storage, integrated with cooling, power, leak detection and environmental sensors.

Power Monitoring & EPMS

Know exactly where power is going from the utility incomer to each rack. We meter incomers, switchboards, generators, UPS input and output, PDUs and busway tap-offs, capturing kW, kVA, power factor and harmonics for alarms, capacity planning and PUE reporting.

SCADA & PLC for Critical Control

Keep plant running through faults with control logic that fails safe. We engineer redundant PLC and SCADA logic for chilled water sequencing, pump and tower staging, generator and automatic transfer supervision, with hard-wired interlocks behind the software.

Access Control, Mantraps & Visitor Management

Control who enters every zone and prove it afterwards. We deliver multi-factor readers, interlocked mantraps with anti-passback and anti-tailgating, visitor pre-registration and escort rules, all logged to a single audit trail.

CCTV & Video Surveillance

Cover every perimeter, corridor, hall and cage with evidence-grade video. We design ONVIF-based camera systems with retention sized to your policy, analytics for tailgating and loitering, and layouts that meet the applicable regulatory requirements.

PSIM (Physical Security Information Management)

Run security from one screen instead of six. We integrate access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom and fire alarm interfaces into a PSIM platform with SOP-driven incident workflows and reporting.

Mechanical Plant & Cooling Control

Hold supply air and water temperatures to setpoint while plant cycles for efficiency. We engineer the control of chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH and CRAC units, fan walls, in-row coolers and liquid cooling distribution units, including free cooling and economiser modes.

Space & Rack Environmental Sensing

Measure conditions where the IT equipment actually draws its air. We install rack inlet and outlet sensors at top, middle and bottom, aisle differential pressure, humidity and dew point monitoring, mapped against the ASHRAE thermal envelope you operate to.

Air Quality Monitoring

Protect equipment and people from contaminants and poor ventilation. We monitor particulates, CO2, VOCs, gaseous corrosivity where needed and room pressurisation, with alarms tied into the BMS.

Leak Detection

Find water before it reaches the floor. We install zoned sensing cable and point sensors under raised floors, around CRAH units, pipework and CDUs, with distance-locating so the alarm tells you where to look.

Fire Detection & Suppression Interfaces

Give operators the fire picture alongside everything else. We interface aspirating smoke detection, gas suppression panels and the fire alarm system into the BMS and PSIM, with damper and cooling shutdown sequences agreed with the life safety designer.

Generators, UPS & Battery Monitoring

Watch the backup power chain as closely as the IT load. We monitor generator controllers, fuel day and bulk tanks, UPS modules and battery strings down to cell voltage and temperature, with maintenance alarms raised before failure.

DCIM & Systems Integration

Turn building data into capacity and efficiency decisions. We integrate BMS, EPMS and security into DCIM, CMMS and ticketing platforms through open APIs, with PUE, WUE and capacity dashboards.

OT Network & Cybersecurity

Keep the networks that run the building separate from the ones that run the business. We build segmented, firewalled OT networks for BMS, security and metering, with monitoring and patching aligned to IEC 62443 principles.

NOC Fit-Out & Video Walls

Give the operations team one room that shows everything. We fit out network operations centres with video walls, operator consoles, intercom and the integrations that bring BMS, EPMS and PSIM onto the wall.

Sensing & Protocols

Sensing, Metering & the Protocols We Integrate

Good decisions depend on good measurements. These are the sensors and meters we typically specify in a data centre, and the open protocols we use to bring them into one monitoring platform.

Air & Environmental Sensors

Rack inlet and outlet temperature at top, middle and bottom of each cabinet, cold and hot aisle temperature, relative humidity and dew point, aisle-to-aisle and room differential pressure, airflow and velocity, filter differential pressure, particulates (PM2.5 and PM10), CO2, VOCs and gaseous corrosivity, plus door, panel and raised-floor tile contacts.

Cooling & Water Sensing

Chilled and condenser water supply and return temperature, flow and thermal energy meters, pressure and differential pressure across pumps, strainers and coils, valve position feedback, VSD speed, current and fault status, cooling tower basin level, conductivity and pH, CDU supply temperature, flow and leak status, and makeup water meters for WUE reporting.

Power Metering & Electrical Sensing

Revenue-grade meters at utility incomers, multifunction meters on switchboards, generators, UPS input and output, PDUs and busway tap-offs, and branch circuit monitoring down to the rack, measuring voltage, current, kW, kVA, kVAr, power factor, frequency, harmonics (THD), sags and swells, with breaker position and trip status, transformer winding temperature, earth leakage, battery string and cell voltage, impedance and temperature, and fuel level and quality.

Security & Life-Safety Interfaces

Reader, lock and door position status, mantrap interlock state, duress and tailgating events, camera health and analytics alarms, aspirating smoke detection levels, fire alarm panel and gas suppression status, and emergency power off state, so security and life-safety events appear beside the building data they affect.

Field devices are brought into one monitoring platform over these protocols, with hard-wired interlocks kept behind the software for anything safety-critical. Where a device speaks only a proprietary protocol, we add a gateway or a hard-wired interface rather than leave it out of the picture.

Control & Monitoring Challenges in Data Centres

1

No Tolerance for Downtime

A cooling or power fault that goes unseen for minutes can take racks offline and breach SLAs. We design redundant monitoring and control with alarm escalation so faults are caught and acted on in seconds.

2

Siloed Systems and Blind Spots

BMS, EPMS, security and DCIM often arrive from different contractors and never share data. We integrate them over open protocols so operators see one picture and audit from one record.

3

Security Across Every Layer

Physical access, visitor flows and the OT network that runs the building all have to be controlled and evidenced. We deliver layered access control, PSIM and a segmented, monitored OT network.
